Happy Sunday Lovers!
Today is a big day! I had a 10k this morning and The Emmys are on tonight and I my sister Kerry Washington is nominated and going to win so I have my whole evening blocked off!
I just wanted to recap my run this morning and share some great photos. It was a great event for a cause and I am always down for the cause as the saying goes.
I have begun to make an active effort to get back into running shape and begin training for the NYC Marathon next year so one of the challenges I gave myself was to sign up for a race every month of so to keep myself training and competitive. I am a proud Womens Health Magazine Subscriber and a few weeks ago while flipping through my October issue I came across the Run10Feed10 registration promotion and I am familiar with the charity and figured I could feed 10 people in need and get a run in for the month so WHY NOT?!
I woke up at the weeeeeee little hours of the morning to get to my race on time and got a rare sight of my street in Brooklyn that reminded me of Noah and Allie lie down in the empty street and look up! So you can tell by my thoughts that it was too early for me to be up, right?
I love races because…. well, its FUN first and foremost and because I get to have a fellowship of sorts with other runners and challenge yourself and there’s freebies and runners that travel from other places and great causes and there is food at the end! I particularly like Oranges after my runs! lots and lots of orange slices or a few whole oranges. I love the high after and the excitement and motivation! On my everyday runs there is no one cheering me on! I mean come on, that is awesome!
I am necessarily is 10K shape, Ok I’m not in shape to compete in a 10k but I am in finishing shape and that’s just what I did this morning! I Finished!
I loved challenging myself to do this race. Milestones and crazy challenges and the exercise in mental strength is really why I love running and I ALWAYS return to it. I won’t go too in depth about running today, I’ll be posting regularly about my training but for now I want to share my photos which include some great shots off Glee cast member Naya Rivera, Olympic Gold Medalist Alex Morgan, Lauren Bush the founder of FEED, Womens Health Magazine Editor and awesome runners that helped to fight hunger here in NYC!!!!!!!!!!
When I run I normally don;t look back but it was such a view!
Feed Founder Lauren Buch Lauren speaking to runners! Lauren is in Womens Health Magazine this month and Todays event was featured on GMA with Weekend Weather Anchor Ginger Zee! Check it out! Go to Goomorningameria.com for deets!

We were out fairly early and I was lucky enough to get this great shot of the Moon!
Caught these two tiny humans Hulla hooping and had to grab a shot! I love to see kids playing outside with the same toys and activities I enjoyed as a kid! Sidewalk chalk is all but unheard of these days!
